Ada, Asmin and The Analytical Engine is a new, large-scale work for family audiences exploring mathematics and education rights through live performance and the beautiful magical realism of puppetry for which Lemony S are renowned.

This show is based on the real-life story of Victorian-era mathematician Ada Lovelace who is credited with being the world’s first computer programmer 200 years before we had the technology to make the first computer. In our story we imagine a world where Ada meets Asmin; a contemporary Australian/Turkish girl, struggling with on-line schooling in the time of COVID-19. These two girls find connection in their educational experiences, their love of numbers and philosophies and in this imagined world we explore how far we have come in education rights for girls, how far we have to go and what world-altering shifts occur when we allow girls to fulfil their full potential.

Ada, Asmin and The Analytical Engine is a collaboration between Lemony S Puppet Theatre and recently arrived math teacher Bilge Deniz Aslan and is being produced by Lauren Eisinger Productions and will premiere in April 2024.
